March 20-30 is Pesticide Action Week. The goal is to raise awareness of the pesticides, promote changes and build a pesticide-free world. This international event has been around for 11 years and takes place in the first ten days of spring when agricultural pesticide use resumes. We are all exposed directly or indirectly to pesticides with the food me eat and the products we use for gardening and in the household. Pesticides can have a significant impact on our environment and health. The goals of this event are: raising awareness on the health and environment risks of synthetic pesticides, highlighting and promoting alternative solutions and building a global grassroots movement for a pesticide-free world.
