We have all seen or heard about the show hoarders. I’ve now seen several apartments that a hoarder has turned into a major insect infestation. Those people are living in such appalling conditions. There is the mental illness aspect to it, yet they may be hurting their family and pets. These hoarders collect paraphernalia and bring insects and pests into the home with their new found gems. When you cannot access parts of a house, there can be a variety of pests that can live and the homeowner may never know. Rats, mice, beetles, flies, squirrels, and more depending on where you live. Hoarders that live in a mess often are not taking necessary steps to care for their pets. Pets can be bitten by rodents or other pests that live in the hoard. Fleas and bedbugs also thrive in this kind of situation. Getting hoarders and pests out of a home can be done but you will need a plan. Have a pest control company come out for an inspection pre-trash removal; as a serious infestation may take several applications to make the premises safe in the long term.
