Mice plague fattens trout

Interesting story in southern New ZealandSnipImage

A “battle for the birds” 1080 bombardment – produced an explosion in the back-country mouse population. This in turn allowed trout to quickly put on size and condition as they gorged on mice swimming rivers to find new sources of beech seed. The same phenomenon of heavy seeding, lots of mice and big trout  occurs every few years and produced the right conditions for massive trout to grow: 20 fish over the “magical” 10 lbs. If the winter isn’t harsh, the fish will maintain their size for the new season beginning on October 1.    Go Green Pest Control   Delta Pest Control   Tsawwassen Pest Control   Ladner Pest Control Mice mic
