Pest Control Phraseology

 

Ever wonder what all those terms a pest control tech says before and after a treatment, well here are the answers:

Bait boxes: black boxes that contain bait or snap traps for rats and mice.

Exclusion: work required to keep pests from entering a building.

Pellets: A dry concentrate pesticide that is ready to use.

Harborage: Where pests use as shelter such as areas of clutter.

IGR or Insect Growth Regulators: a chemical that disrupts and/ or inhibit the growth of insects.

Parasite: lives and harms a host.

Pesticide: chemicals that control or kill pests.

Insecticide: Pesticide used for insects.

Residual: The length of time that a pesticide is active.

Single dose: Should cause the pest to perish after one dose.
