Ant control done right

There is not a guide book that describes how to approach carpenter ant problems and therefore each pest control company approaches it differently. Locating the nest, albeit a difficult task, is the key to stopping the ant issues. The nest could be as close as a stump next to the house or a tree three doors down the street. One company’s policy would be to locate the nest and selectively treat only in specific areas. Another would approach this by drilling and dusting as many potential wall voids and nesting sites as possible. Many will apply a perimeter spray treatment around the outside foundation of the home to prevent access to the building.

Household ant infestations are so common that ant control is the most in-demand type of a pest professional. The government has made it very difficult for the consumer to purchase chemicals that can be dangerous in the wrong hands and therefore a lot of people go spend money and time trying to eradicate their issue like the proverbial “putting a fire out with gasoline”. Hardware stores are happy to sell you as much of this weak product as you want but in most cases, homeowners and businesses call on pest control professionals to help them eliminate all species of ants. Different types of ants present unique set of challenges and are best eliminated with different techniques.  Pest Control officers are trained to handle pesticides that can be very dangerous if applied incorrectly: in many cases the client needs to evacuate the premises for 4-5 hours after the spray.  Pest control professionals don’t just determine what types of ants are present in the building and where they are located; they also figure out how they are getting in.  Even though professional ant pest control services cost more than DIY products, many homeowners and business owners end up having to try multiple products before they’re able to successfully deal with ants. In the end, the combined cost of all of these products and the time involved often comes close to the cost of hiring a professional.
