What’s the best thing about bugs? Bugs such as ants can taste like lemon, crickets are nutty and grubs can resemble the flavour of bacon. Pestaurants are popping up all over the world serving such mouth-watering delights as Grasshopper Burgers, Chocolate Chirp Cookies and Boston Clorm Chowder. Do appetizers such as panko fried meal worms, crispy crickets and grasshopper fritters interest you? Here is a list of a few local bugs you can add to your next menu:

1- Ants of all kinds can be eaten including those that taste like bacon-pistachio fusion and lemon citrus.

2-Bee larvae, either from honey bees or bumblebees taste like creamy royal jelly.

3-Cockroaches can actually taste pretty good and are quite healthy.

4-Earthworms need to be purged of dirt, pre-dried and then stir fried.

5-Fly pupae of the common house fly taste like black pudding (blood sausage).

6-Hornets can be eaten in either larval or pupal form.

7- Wasps taste earthy and buttery, and they go well cooked with sugar and soy sauce, served with rice!

8-Dragonflies are delicious with French fries.

9-Mealworms are the gateway bug, they are to raise, have a great nutrition profile, and they taste like roasted nuts.

10-Mosquitos can be served up in tortillas with lime.

11-Stink Bugs can be bitter to slightly sweet and tangy.

12-Termites are loaded with protein and they actually have a full essential amino acid profile. Some are nutty and others taste of mint.
