Double Whammy – Rodents Feast and Sharpen Teeth at the Same Time

When rodents get into your car, absolutely nothing good could come of it. Those rodents are actually sharpening their teeth and feasting on car parts. When you go to start your car in the morning and you get the lights popping on warning of electrical problems, engine issues you don’t think about that some varmints have set up shop in your engine compartment. Once rodents begin chewing on wiring, hoses, plastic, and other serious engine parts, the tow bill to your mechanic will be the least of your problems. Rodent damage has been around since they first started making cars, first it was just rodents making nests on the manifolds and clogging up engine intakes, but now it is increasing as auto manufactures use more plant-based biodegradable materials rather than good old plastic. If you google the problem you will find all kinds of suggestions including: snap traps under the vehicle, poisonous bait boxes, painting everything with hot sauce, installing a metal mesh around wiring harnesses, rubber hoses and openings where they can crawl into ventilation or intake systems. But now, there is electrical tape that is infused with capsaicin, the active component of chili peppers that produces a sensation of burning in any tissue with which it comes into contact with.
