It’s that time again when the insects are hatching and the insect police are setting up their road blocks. Spiders, do you fear them or perhaps dread them. Spiders do not transmit diseases to humans when they bite, although some species have highly toxic venom. Spiders are predatory feeding on almost any living creature including other spiders. Female spiders lay eggs in egg sacs, containing thousands of tiny eggs that usually hatch in a couple weeks. The spiderlings emerge and feed on food supplies provided by the mother. They leave by crawling or ballooning which involves letting the wind spread them. Most spiders live between one to fifteen years. Spiders can enter your home through cracks in the foundation, windows and doors. Keeping your house insect free discourage spiders from setting up shop. By removing spider webs you can also slow the spread of spider infestations.
