Yuck Flies on my Food – Should you chuck it out?

Houseflies can carry a lot of different infectious germs because they eat and lay their eggs in feces, decomposing flesh, and other putrefying matters. These germs stick to many areas of flies as they feed and reproduce. Flies also use regurgitating enzymes from their bodies to break down their food into a fluid that they suck up. So if you see a fly land on your food, do you toss it out? I do – but there is no firm indication that flies transmit pathogens through food that people consume. But again, a growing fly population in your house may result in people getting sick i.e. diarrhea. So if you see one fly land on your food – you should be okay, but if there is a horde of flies pecking at your food, toss it.  https://gogreenpestcontrol.ca/yuck-flies-on-my…you-chuck-it-out/https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/yuck-flies-my-food-should-you-chuck-out-randy-bilesky/
